But with warmer temperatures comes the risk of heat stroke and heat exhaustion. “I can be in hot weather all the time. I love hot weather,” Juan Sierra said. For some North Avenue beachgoers, Tuesday’s hot weather was far overdue as temperatures climbed to 90. Health experts advise people to keep in mind the dangers of extreme heat as more hot and humid weather is predicted for this weekend.

CHICAGO (WGN) — The faith community of St. Sabina kicked off their annual summer Friday night peace walks, which come on the heels of a shooting near the church that left seven people hospitalized. A tradition for two decades, Fr. Michael Pfleger of St. Sabina Church told WGN-TV that all are welcome to attend, as the church plans to hold the peace walks each Friday night through October.
