AUSTIN, Texas — Ethan Mendoza grew up dreaming of playing for the Texas Longhorns, but that dream didn't come to fruition without some challenges. When the time came to be recruited, the native of Bedford, Texas native went to every UT baseball camp possible, hoping to catch the eye of a coach. LEANDER, Texas — From the moment Madi George stepped on the softball field, she was hitting home runs. "I started playing softball when I was eight," George said. CHARLOTTE, NC (CBS19 SPORTS)-- For the third year in a row the Cavaliers were knocked out of the ACC Championship just one game short of the semifinals. The Cavaliers jumped out first thanks to a RBI double up the right field line from Bobby Whalen. The lead was short lived though as FSU plated two runs in the next frame. FSU then added more insurance to take a 4-1 lead. Momentum once again swayed in Virginia's favor as Griff O'Ferrall belted a lead off homerun to make it a 4-2 ball game.
