    STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Starkville police posted on social media about an accident involving “vehicles and motorcycles” at Highway 12 and Russell Street/Stone Boulevard. Police did report in the post that there were injuries, but did not give any further information. Mississippi Department of Transportation traffic cameras saw a white SUV with major damage to the passenger side. A firetruck was also on the scene and law enforcement was directing traffic.

    LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – If you use McCullough Road to cut between Ridge and Wolf roads in northern Lowndes County, you will need to find a different way to go next week. The Lowndes County Road Department said McCullough Road will be closed from 8 a.m. on Monday, August 26 until Thursday, August 29 at 4 p.m.The department is making repairs to the road during that time.     STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Because of weather conditions and an increase in grass fires, the city of Starkville has issued a citywide burn ban. No permits will be issued for burning in the city. The city is also urging people to be cautious when disposing of cigarette butts and charcoal ashes. The Starkville Fire Department says the ban will be in place until further notice.
