PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Early morning showers and thunderstorms impacting Arizona brought a wet start to Wednesday. An upper-level low pressure system moving through from the west will continue unsettled weather throughout the day for parts of the state. In the Valley, look for a chance of scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms throughout the morning hours. Some areas could see brief, heavy rain. The afternoon looks to be dry and mostly sunny with a forecast high of 98 degrees.

Another storm is headed our way, bringing renewed rain chances to parts of the state by tonight and tomorrow. Look for a Valley high of 98 degrees today under sunny skies with light winds. About the same temperatures can be expected tomorrow. There’s a slight chance for Valley rain early tomorrow morning before dry weather returns for most of the day Wednesday.

In what’s typically our driest time of year in the Valley, Phoenix picked up .24 inches of rain, with other parts of the West Valley and Scottsdale recording more than an inch of rain over the last 24 hours. It’s a First Alert Weather Day for morning rain. Rain and thunderstorms impacting the Valley are expected to wind down during the morning hours with a partly cloudy and dry day ahead.
