VANDERBURGH COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) — The Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation says it’s taking the next steps to sell a part of one of its properties. It’s the former Eagle Valley Golf Course that the EVSC has owned since 2017. EVSC has owned the land for years and as many know, the school corporation used part of the land to build McCutchanville Elementary School. But the EVSC wants to sell around 60 acres of the former course.

EVANSVILLE, Ind (WEHT) – All veterans gave some and hundreds of thousands of them gave all to preserve freedom. Honor guards spend a couple moments paying their debt of gratitude to those they say gave us the liberty we have. Jim Gorman from Disabled American Veterans Chapter 7 is just one of them. He’s a Vietnam vet who’s seen his share of friends die in the line of duty, including his own classmate, David Garrett, from Rex Mundi High School.

EVANSVILLE, Ind (WEHT) – Many consider Memorial Day the “unofficial start to summer”, and some Tri-State families are kicking off the season at Wesselman Park in Evansville. Parents brought their children to the Wesselman Playground for an afternoon of fun and games. The children wasted no time, heading right for the seesaw, slides and swings. Some of the kids told our crew they’re just happy to be out of school. Parents say they decided to spend their Memorial Day to enjoy the sun.

MORGANFIELD, Ky. (WEHT) – It’s been more than a week since a tornado came through Union County, and the reminders of what it left behind still litter properties. Just two miles southwest of Morganfield, several organizations offered a helping hand and are working to get lives back on track. Lives were turned upside down on May 16, when Union County homes were no match for winds peaking at 155 miles per hour. Since then, some homes have stayed relatively untouched.

VANDERBURGH COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) — Saturday afternoon was relatively chilly in the Tri-State. Though temperatures then never went higher than the mid 70s, some decide to go swimming on the first day Burdette Park’s pool opened. Some may have gone outside on Saturday and said “it’s too cold to go swimming,” but not this crowd. Several braved the cooler temps and physically jumped — or dived — into Burdette Park’s pool for the first time this season.
