    Early Saturday morning, Mansfield police officers were involved in a shooting that left one person dead. Just before 2 a.m., officers responded to Cline Avenue for a report of domestic violence, police said. Upon arrival, they encountered a man with a knife at the door. The man fled back into the residence, which was occupied by his girlfriend and her two small children, police said. Hostage negotiators and the Richland County ASORT team arrived on the scene to attempt to negotiate with the man.

    Mansfield Police detectives are investigating after an electrical crew working in a home in Mansfield found human remains. According to the Mansfield Police Department, electricians working at a home in the 200 block of West 3rd Street found the remains in the home's attic Monday just after 5 p.m.The Richland County Coroner's Office and Mercyhurst University's Forensic and Biological Anthropology Team are assisting with the investigation. Police haven't released any additional information.

    A 16-year-old was shot and killed Wednesday afternoon in Mansfield, according to Mansfield Police. Just after 2 p.m., police responded to a house on E. Chestnut Street in Mansfield for a shooting. Upon arrival, they found the teen suffering from gunshot wounds, Mansfield Police said. The teen was transported to a nearby hospital, where the victim was later pronounced deceased, Mansfield Police said.

    The Mansfield Police Department is investigating the shooting death of a 25-year-old early Saturday morning. According to the authorities, officers responded to a home in the 400 block of Spring Street just before 2 a.m. for a report of someone who had been shot. When officers arrived, they found the victim inside the home. The victim, who has not been identified, had been shot multiple times, authorities said. A suspect has not been identified, and no further information has been released.

    Mansfield Police are investigating after two people were found dead inside a home Monday evening. Police were called to the 300 block of East Arch Street around 8:30 p.m. on reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they found the two victims inside the home. Both victims were found with a single gunshot wound and were pronounced dead at the scene. Police do not believe anyone else was involved in the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 419-755-9791.
