Winter chills set to return by mid-week

NEW YORK (PIX11) — Tri-staters got a break from the winter chill on Sunday as westerly winds boosted temperatures back towards seasonable levels. Central Park clocked in with an afternoon high of 42 degrees, and some areas even made it into the mid and upper 40s. In addition, the day started out on a sunny note, but clouds increased during the afternoon hours. Expect conditions to cool down a bit this evening. Temperatures will drop into the low and mid 30s in most locations.
Bright skies, cold temps on Christmas Day in NY, NJ

NEW YORK (PIX11) – Look for bright skies and cold conditions on this Christmas Day. Afternoon highs will be in the mid to upper-30s. For those of you celebrating Hanukkah after sunset, you can expect mostly clear skies and temperatures in the upper-20s to low-30s. Expect temperatures to gradually increase over the next several days. We’ll make our way into the low and mid-40s for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and we could even see a few 50s by Sunday.
Cold air arrives, bringing freezing temps to NY, NJ

NEW YORK (PIX11) — Old Man Winter held a tight grip on the tri-state as some of the coldest temperatures of the season were seen on Sunday. Central Park clocked in with an afternoon high of just 38 degrees, which was 11 degrees below normal. In addition, wind gusts in excess of 30 mph made it feel like the teens and 20s in many areas. Expect the cold air to stay in place this evening. Temperatures will drop into the upper 20s and low 30s in most locations.
Chilly temps and rain expected for Thanksgiving

NEW YORK (PIX11) — Tonight, we expect it to feel a bit chilly with temperatures in the lower 40’s. The clouds will clear as the night goes on. Monday, to begin the holiday week, is expected to remain dry and become milder. Highs may reach 60, which is above normal for this time of year. By Tuesday, the warm temperatures will continue as a southwest wind becomes more predominant. A morning shower is possible on Tuesday before a gradual clearing.

NEW YORK (PIX11) – New York City is under a drought warning as dry conditions and a lack of rain persist, Mayor Eric Adams announced on Monday. City agencies will start implementing drought protocols while New Yorkers are still urged to voluntarily conserve water. The city experienced its second-longest dry streak in October, with 32 days without rain. The last time that happened was in 1924, when New York City went 36 days without rain. But there may be some relief coming this week.
Mild air returns to tri-state area, bringing pleasant conditions

NEW YORK (PIX11) — After a few days on the chilly side, pleasant conditions returned to the tri-state area as mild air settled back into the region. Central Park clocked in with an afternoon high of 63 degrees, which is 9 degrees above normal. In addition, plenty of sun was seen during the morning and early afternoon hours, but clouds began to increase later in the day. Expect conditions to cool down as we move into the evening hours. Temperatures will drop into the low to mid 50s in most locations.

NEW YORK (PIX11) — It was another seasonable day around the tri-state area as winds off the ocean kept conditions on the chilly side. Central Park clocked in with an afternoon high of just 58 degrees, one of the coolest afternoons seen this month. The day started out on a bright note, but clouds began to increase during the afternoon as a storm system approached us. In addition, parts of northwestern New Jersey and the Hudson Valley saw a few showers.

NEW YORK (PIX11) – With heavy rains and heat waves behind, New York will finally see perfect summer weather Sunday. New York will see a high of 82 degrees Sunday with no rain. All week, temperatures will remain in the low- to mid-80s across New York and New Jersey. By next weekend, the region could see a hurricane, but until then it will be clear skies and lows in the mid-60s. In New Jersey, temperatures will sit in the low-80s all week with mostly sunny skies and lows in the 60s.
