MADISON (WKOW) — More than 82,000 people in Wisconsin have added emergency contact information to their DMV records in the first year of a program initiated by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT). According to a news release, this initiative allows law enforcement to quickly contact family members in emergencies. It was part of the "To Inform Families First" law signed by Gov. Tony Evers in 2023.

MADISON (WKOW) -- A Cross Plains resident is now $100,000 richer after a Mega Millions win. The winning ticket was sold at the Kwik Trip on Main Street in the June 3 drawing. The ticket was originally a $10,000 winner, but it benefited from a 10X Multiplier. It matched four of five numbers and the Mega Ball. Kwik Trip in Cross Plains has seen luck before. In March, it sold a $10,000 scratch ticket winner. Players have 180 days to claim their winnings.

Licari's Bar & Grill also won the contest in 2024. The winning burger features a 1/3-pound patty topped with a homemade Fireball aioli, American and pepper jack cheese, bacon and four Fireball cheese curds. Guests can choose between a French toast or Stella’s spicy cheese bun.
