NEW YORK (PIX11) — Tuesday was quite stormy for areas to the west of the city. A few tornado warnings developed in Eastern Pennsylvania and made their way into extreme sections of Western New Jersey. In Butler, PA, a tornado was confirmed by the National Weather Service. In our neck of the woods, a marine layer formed over the city and curtailed the severe threat. Low clouds and fog will continue to prevail over coastal sections into Tuesday night.

NEW YORK (PIX11) — It will be an unsettled week featuring showers for basically the entire week. There will be a few downpours possible through the middle part of the week, and that could lead to concerns of localized street flooding. Most of Monday featured waves of rain during the day. As for the evening, there may be a break in the action before the showers and downpours return late at night. Temperatures will hover in the upper 50s to lower 60s. Tuesday will continue to feature periods of rain.

NEW YORK (PIX11) — Tri-staters spent Sunday under the umbrellas as a slow-moving storm system continued throwing wet weather our way. Fortunately, no severe weather was seen, and the rain was primarily on the light side in most areas. In addition, conditions were noticeably cooler than yesterday, with afternoon highs only reaching the mid 60s to the low 70s. We’ll cool down slightly this evening into tonight, but temperatures are expected to remain fairly steady.

NEW YORK (PIX11) — April ended on a gorgeous note with plenty of sunshine and temperatures topping out in the 70s for the third day in a row. We will probably eke out another dry day to start the month of May, but shower chances will be increasing by Thursday night. Skies will be generally clear on Wednesday night. Temperatures will drop toward 50 degrees in the city, with most surrounding areas ending up in the 40s.

NEW YORK (PIX11) — More sunshine is expected on Thursday, but there are concerns that smoke from the Jones Road Fire in Central New Jersey will bring a haze over the city and cause some air quality issues. Those with respiratory problems or the elderly should limit their time outdoors between late Wednesday night and Thursday. Skies will be generally clear for Wednesday night. Some of the smoke, along with the smell from the fires, may make their way into the region.
