Not surprisingly, drinkers in the capital and Co Wicklow face the highest average price for stout, while those living in counties Westmeath, Roscommon and Mayo pay the lowest. The picture is similar for lager, with pubs in Dublin city, Co Wicklow and Galway city charging the most, while publicans in Roscommon, Donegal and Mayo asking the least. In our survey, publicans were asked for the price of their most popular pints of stout and lager, as part of the extensive survey.
