Rightmove described the national house price dip as ‘unusual’ for June, as new sellers lower their price expectations amid decade-high competition to secure buyers. However, the property search giant revealed that in Yorkshire and The Humber, asking prices increased, albeit by a modest 0.2%, which means asking prices in the region are 1.9% higher than this time last year, with the average home priced at £258,839. This compares to year on year price growth of 0.8% nationally.

Hawksworth Estates had applied to Leeds City Council for permission to construct a new access road from the east side of Hawksworth Quarry to Hawksworth Lane.

Professor Becky Malby, founder of the Ilkley Clean River Group and chair of Ilkley Pool and Lido Community Group has been awarded a BEM (British Empire Medal) for services to National River Cleanliness and to the community in Ilkley. Prof Malby is also behind the Ilkley Great Get Together, a group of local people who organise free school meal provision in the holidays. From today, all passengers arriving and departing at LBA will use the upgraded terminal facilities. These include a modernised arrivals process, including a new baggage reclaim area and an upgraded passport control facility incorporating what the airport calls “advanced security technologies”.
