    Riley Lister was said to have carried out “three ugly pieces of domestic violence” during 2024 that left the victim with a suspected dislocated knee and bruises to her face. Following his final assault upon her, last December, he refused to let her leave unless she covered her injuries with make-up. Lister, 20, of Henshaw Avenue, Yeadon, was also handed a restraining order that bans him from any contact with the victim for five years.

    OUR final flurry of activity culminated in our Annual Plant Sale held at the Buttercross in Otley Market Square. For months our members had been sowing seeds, planting and repotting, digging up and dividing in readiness for a fantastic display. The Plant Sale is a very necessary fund raiser to support the coming year’s talks and activities which starting in September. This year a trip to The Himalayan Garden, near Ripon, was organised in May.
