    FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — Indiana State Police (ISP) has identified what the department believes is the man behind a murder case that went unsolved for more than 50 years. On Wednesday, ISP announced Fred Allen Lienemann — who was from Michigan and born near Anderson, Indiana — as the main suspect in a 1972 murder and sexual assault case that started in Grant County and ended in Allen County.

    FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — For the first time since the middle of George H.W. Bush’s presidency, Garry Morr will not be involved in the City of Fort Wayne’s finances. On Tuesday, city officials announced Morr, who serves as the city controller, will retire in May after holding the position since April 2018. Prior to that, Morr serves as deputy director of Finance and Administration for Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation starting in 1991.

Mike Braun signed Senate Bill 1 into law Tuesday, finalizing a property tax reform that offers relief to homeowners while raising concerns among local officials and educators. Under the law, most Hoosiers will receive a property tax credit that could save up to $300 per year, but with property tax collections set to decrease under the new law, some local officials said they’re now bracing for the possibility of increased income taxes to make up the difference.
