Man dies at LaGrange County Jail despite aid

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — According to the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department, a man died on Sunday afternoon at the LaGrange County Jail. The 37-year-old man was found unresponsive in his cell around 2:30 p.m.. Parkview EMS, LaGrange Volunteer Fire, LaGrange Police Department and Indiana DNR all responded to help at the scene where life-saving measures were taken, but were ultimately unsuccessful. The incident is being investigated by the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — On Saturday afternoon, just after 6:00 p.m., a County Sheriff’s deputy saw a motorcycle speeding eastbound on Toledo St in front of Fremont High School. Police pulled the motorcycle over, but the driver sped off, initiating a chase. After leading police out of Fremont and into Jamestown Township, the suspect led deputies into Pokagon State Park. Police arrested the driver, 20-year-old Anthony Cerget, in the park near CR 500 N.
