TEMPE, Ariz. — A student group at ASU with around 30 members, is asking students to report their classmates to ICE, saying they intend to host an event Friday to inform fellow students how to do so. Now, other student groups are calling on ASU to take action against the move.

PHOENIX — The Arizona Auditor General is warning that dozens of school districts in the state are facing tough financial decisions due to one or more financial risks. The results of those issues have been seen in school board meetings in recent weeks as districts in the Valley have discussed closing schools, eliminating staff and more. "Districts are facing a perfect storm," Beth Lewis, Director of Save Our Schools Arizona, said. One factor is the end of COVID-19 funds.

As the country laid former President Jimmy Carter to rest, one Valley leader, who was named to Carter's Mexican American Advisory Council, is remembering the 39th president's legacy and impact on the Hispanic community in the Southwest. "He changed the character of the Latino population throughout the whole United States. And people don't even give him credit. They may not even know," Tommy Espinoza said. Now, Espinoza is the President of the non-profit San Juan Diego Insitute.
