A lorry driver has described how he reversed his vehicle up to a burning building in Dublin city centre to save a man trapped on the third floor. Tomasz Zereba, was delivering groceries for Eurospar when he drove on to Granby Street on Monday. In a statement, issued through his employer, he said: "I saw the flames coming up from the window and one guy was lying on the footpath. He had blood on his face, and I think he might have broken both his legs when he jumped from the building.

Frustration, worry and powerlessness are the three most commonly felt emotions by respondents to a survey about climate change. The Climate Conversations 2025 report is based on 1,949 responses to a Government consultation. Only one in seven of those who filled in the survey believe the Government is delivering a clear plan for climate action. The number of people who responded to this latest round of Climate Conversations in 2024 is down about 50% from the previous year.

Thousands of people are taking part in an anti-immigration protest in Dublin this afternoon, with a counter demonstration also taking place. Gardaí are separating rival groups of protesters at O'Connell Bridge in the capital. An anti-immigration march is making its way from the Garden of Rembrance to the Customs House on the quays. A counter protest, organised by United Against Racism, has marched from Dame Street to O’Connell Bridge and the two groups are exchanging chants and jeers.

A woman has appeared in court charged with driving without insurance, driving without a driving Licence on 26 December last year and failure to produce her licence or insurance documents to gardaí. Garda Niamh Crowe told Judge David McHugh at Blanchardstown District Court, that Nicole Fallon, of Whitestown Avenue, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, made no reply when charged. Defence Solicitor Tertius Van Eeden, applying for legal aid, told Judge McHugh his client is not working.

People Before Profit TD Paul Murphy, who was detained twice in Egypt while participating in the Global March to Gaza, has returned to Ireland. He was among a group of participants in the march from Ireland who flew back to Dublin. Speaking to journalists at Dublin Airport, the People Before Profit/Solidarity TD said that "this phase of the global march to Gaza is finished".
