Several thousand people have taken part in the annual 'March for Life' event in Dublin city centre. The demonstration gathered on St Stephen's Green, across the road from the Newman University Church around 2pm before marching to Molesworth Street. The crowd then heard from speeches from speakers including Aontú Senator Sarah O'Reilly. Some of the participants told RTÉ they were there looking for a change in the law in Ireland to ban abortion.

The Heritage Council is calling for a climate risk register for heritage, saying that extreme weather events have already demonstrated vulnerability. The Council's Chief Excecutive Virginia Teehan said the country's "wonderful historic landscapes are really threatened". "The storms knocked many trees in North Leinster, many of the grand estates and domains, I know hundreds of trees were knocked, and these are all part of the history of that place," she said.

New machinery is tipping the balance in the decades-long battle to clear rhododendron in Killarney National Park, according to the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS)The park, which is home to rare plants and animals, is one of the most important areas for biodiversity in Ireland, but the invasive species has been a major threat to that biodiversity. In recent months, there has been significant progress made at the Co Kerry park to eradicate rhododendron.

The next group of Irish soldiers to deploy on the UNIFIL mission in south Lebanon are training in Co Wicklow. The 298 soldiers from the 126th Infantry Battalion include a father and daughter, and a father and son. The group will be deploying to a still volatile situation. The soldiers have been preparing for their deployment in Co Wicklow's Glen of Imaal. They leave next month and will be replacing the 125th Infantry as part of the multinational UNIFIL Battalion known as IRISHPOLBATT.

Two men and a teenager have appeared in court in Co Wicklow charged in connection with the death of a 36-year-old man in Bray earlier this year. William Moorehouse, who had an address at the Half Moon Halting Site just outside Bray, died in the playground at Ballywaltrim, Bray, on 19 January. Patrick Fitzpatrick, James Fell and the teenager, who cannot be named because he is still a juvenile, appeared at Arklow District Court.
