The tension, however, is likely to persist inside city hall after weeks of a public and at times personal battle between Mayor Ben Walsh's team and Common Council leadership over the numbers and the process. On Tuesday, councilors voted unanimously 45 times to override all 45 of Walsh's attempts to veto certain amendments the council made to his proposed budget.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — A 23-year-old man is recovering after he was stabbed on Monday afternoon, according to Syracuse Police. The department said that officers responded to the 100 block of Onondaga Avenue at around 2:21 p.m. in response to reports of a stabbing. Officers found that EMS with American Medical Response (AMR) Ambulance had already arrived and were treating the man. He was listed in stable condition at Upstate Hospital and is expected to survive.
