DASSEL — The Meeker County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a rash of break-ins and property damage in Dassel over the weekend. According to the Sheriff’s Office, dispatchers from Saturday to Monday received 12 calls regarding damage to property, break-ins, and a report of suspicious people walking in town. A burglary alarm also went off, related to the reports of property damage.

PAYNESVILLE — Three people were transported to the hospital Sunday evening after a two-vehicle crash in Stearns County. According to a news release from the Stearns County Sheriff's Office, initial investigation showed that a 2008 Dodge Avenger, driven by John Weber, 55, of Hawick, was driving southbound on County Road 16 and had failed to stop at a posted stop sign when it ran into an eastbound Dodge Durango SUV at the intersection with County Road 130 north of Paynesville.
