The Victoria Airport Authority has dropped Island-based Robbins Parking and picked an American-owned company to manage its 3,300 parking spaces. Robbins has held the parking-management contract at Victoria International Airport for more than four decades, but lost out to LAZ Parking Canada Inc., which provides parking-management services at Edmonton and Calgary airports, in a competitive bidding process that closed in February. Nine companies submitted contract proposals.

Langford said Thursday it was “disappointed” to learn the city was on the next list of municipalities to have housing targets imposed by the provincial government.
