Officials discuss danger fentanyl poses to first responders after Greenwood officers exposed

GREENWOOD, La. (KSLA) - Fentanyl can pose a danger not only to those using it, but also to first responders who may unknowingly encounter the drug. The Greenwood Police Department learned this firsthand when three of its officers had to be taken to the hospital after an accidental exposure during a recent traffic stop. Four people were arrested during this incident. Greenwood Police Chief Shayne Gibson says his department has had some training when it comes to handling potentially dangerous drugs.
Rocking R Solar Farm to go online in 2025, expected to power about 20,000 homes in Louisiana

CADDO PARISH, La. (KSLA) - The first solar farm built in northwest Louisiana is expected to soon go online. The Rocking R Solar project is around 1,000 acres and is located in Caddo Parish right by I-49. The project will be able to power roughly 20,000 Louisiana homes. The project has been led by DESRI, and SWEPCO will be purchasing energy from it. Louisiana Public Service Commissioner Foster Campbell says this will encourage people to want to move here and stay here.
