PHOENIX — The above video is from a previous broadcast. A jury found Vallow Daybell guilty of Conspiracy to Commit First-Degree Murder in April. Last week, Vallow Daybell, who is representing herself, filed a motion for a new trial. She cited a number of claims, including that a juror knew about her prior convictions. In 2023, Vallow Daybell was convicted in Idaho for killing her children, Tylee and JJ.

CHANDLER, Ariz. — It’s a lesson no kid should ever have to learn. But at Kyrene del Cielo Elementary School in Chandler, it came in 2021. In May of that year, fifth-grader Mia Inoue and her second-grader brother Kai were murdered by their mother at their home in Tempe. Their mother, Yui Inoue, was sentenced to life in prison for their murders last week.

PHOENIX — A Tempe mom convicted of killing her two young children is set to be sentenced to prison Friday afternoon. A jury convicted Yui Inoue in February of killing her children, 9-year-old Mia and 7-year-old Kai, back in May 2021. The trial lasted about two weeks and Inoue waived her right to be in the courtroom during her own trial.

PHOENIX — Four Valley teenagers are facing aggravated assault charges for an attack on another teen at Desert Ridge Marketplace. In early April, a Phoenix mom was on her way to pick up her 15-year-old son from the shopping center when things took a bad turn. A group of four other teens was attacking her son, while his friends tried to help him. He called her while she was already on her way. "These kids did not stop on their own," the victim's mother said.
