    WESTFIELD, NJ -- The New Providence baseball team swung the bats better than they have since opening day on Tuesday. But Westfield swung theirs even better. In a game that saw the two teams combine for 23 runs in the fifth and sixth innings, Westfield came away with an 18-11 victory over New Providence. New Providence (1-4) rallied from a 5-0 deficit after three innings to take a 7-5 lead with six runs in the top of the fifth.

    WEST CALDWELL, NJ – Sophia Rodriguez pitched a three-hitter to lead Caldwell to a 3-0 softball victory over Nutley on Monday. Rodriguez was also 2-for-3 at the plate with a run scored and an RBI. Caldwell (3-2) scored runs in the third, fifth and sixth innings. Lucia Luzzi and Ava Geraci also had run-scoring hits for the Chiefs. Ava Rodriguez' double was the only extra-base hit for Caldwell.

    NORTH CALDWELL, NJ – West Essex hit six doubles in a 10-0 softball victory over Bloomfield on Monday. Brianna Gillen allowed three hits and struck out 11 batters in five innings for the win. Brooke Gillen hit two of the doubles for West Essex (3-4). Olivia Blanco went 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Erin Mah was 2-for-4 with three runs scored, a double and an RBI. Ashley Suhey had two hits and scored two runs.

    NORTH CALDWELL, NJ – West Essex scored in every inning and went on to a 12-2 baseball victory over St. Benedict's Prep on Monday. Senior shortstop Joe Panzarino went 3-for-4 with two triples, a double and three runs batted in for the Knights (3-2), who were playing their first game in six days. In addition to Panzarino's extra-base hit barrage, Jack Epstein, Colagio Fiore, Justin Fredella and TJ Barbella all hit doubles for West Essex, which had 11 total hits, seven of them for extra bases.

    EDISON, NJ -- Livingston received strong pitching from Max Peri and Julian Schultz and braved the rain and frigid temperatures for a 3-1 baseball victory over Monroe in the Autism Awareness Challenge on Saturday at Edison High School. Livingston (4-3) scored all its runs in the top of the third inning on an RBI double by E.J. Frayne and a two-run triple by Robbie Lynn. Lynn finished with two of the Lancers' four hits.
