    GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - After nearly 7 hours, a standoff between a Grand Junction resident and law enforcement concluded. That standoff was near Texas Ave and Placer Drive, and was called in around 1 p.m. when residents were ordered to stay in their homes, and to shelter in place, after neighbors heard a man making threats about other people in the neighborhood.

    GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) - When students walk through the halls of the brand new Grand Junction High School for the first time on Thursday, they’ll embark on a new journey. One that is 68 years in the making. The ribbon was cut this morning for the new Grand Junction High School, but before the scissors hit the ribbon, a statue was unveiled in front of the school. A bronze tiger now stands by the cafeteria doors of the new school, welcoming students into the building each day.

(KKCO) - This morning, Mesa County school district 51 helped unstuff the bus of donations that will eventually be distributed to students around the valley who need supplies most. This event has gone on for over 20 years, and each year the community shows up and donates what they can for the cause, packing the bus full and helping those in need. “I think it’s been a couple of decades actually,” said D51 superintendent Brian Hill.
