The Petillo family’s efforts are happening as new research showed guns killed more children and teens than any other cause, including car crashes and cancer, for a third straight year. MESA, Ariz. — The Arizona Department of Health Services has taken some action against a midwife birth center after a family complained to the state about their care. The findings came after ADHS conducted an unannounced complaint inspection at the Willow Birth Center in Mesa in February 2025. That happened days after 12News first reported Carson and Daniel Neisess' story and the family said they filed their complaint.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Arizona has taken another step forward in securing the future of water in the desert. New rules for turning wastewater into drinking water have been approved. The purification process is one that the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality said more local utilities could adopt. An oversight council has just approved the new advanced water purification rules.
