Minnesota Energy is announcing, after thousands of votes, brothers Waffles and Tacoma are this year’s safe digging ‘Ambassadogs.’The 11-month-old and 2-year-old duo come from Blooming Prairie and love all outdoor play like swimming, chasing squirrels, and of course digging.

(KTTC) – Sarah Petersen is now serving her sentence in the Fillmore County Jail after pleading guilty to two counts of criminal vehicular operation for taking responsibility for a deadly 2023 Amish buggy crash that killed two young girls. Her identical twin sister, Samantha, was the actual driver in that deadly crash. Sarah was sentenced to up to 3 months behind bars.

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – Country music fans, a new tour is coming to the Mayo Civic Center in November. Dustin Lynch and Scotty McCreery are bringing their “Two for the Road Tour” to Rochester. Dustin Lynch’s “Thinking ‘Bout You” spent six weeks at number one and was the most-played song on country radio in 2022.
Mallard settles into DNR EagleCam nest

MINNESOTA (KTTC) – The Minnesota DNR EagleCam is looking a little different these days thanks to a duck taking up residence in the nest while it was left vacant. The mallard is a female. DNR staff say there are eggs beneath her. The DNR expects those eggs to hatch around May 15th. The DNR says the very day those ducklings hatch, their mother will lead them to water. The DNR says the duck is nesting a few hundred yards from an active bald eagle nest.
Albert Lea Police investigate apparent fatal fall from building

ALBERT LEA, Minn. (KTTC) – Albert Lea Police are asking any witnesses to share information after what appears to be a fatal fall from a building early Monday morning. At 6:16 a.m. officers responded to Fourth Avenue South where a 54-year-old man was found dead. Police say the man, who has not yet been identified, appeared to have fallen from an upper-story window. Albert Lea Fire Rescue and Mayo Clinic Ambulance also responded to the scene, but emergency personnel were unable to revive the man.
Paws and Claws raises thousands through 2024 Pet Walk

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – Paws and Claws Humane Society of Rochester raised more than $36,000 through this year’s Pet Walk on Saturday. The annual fundraiser is one of the biggest for the nonprofit, and all money raised go directly back to the organization to care for animals and find their forever homes. Despite the rainy day, dozens of people gathered with their furry companions and Paws and Claws stated the Pet Walk had a good turnout.
