WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - A family in Wichita had their trailer stolen from in front of their home shortly after 1 a.m. on Sunday. “They just pulled in, hooked it up real fast and then drove off with it,” said Anna Shook, who owned the trailer. “We had a lock on it and all that. ” The Wichita Police Department reported a decrease in trailer thefts this year but said owners should be vigilant as these crimes are becoming more common in the area.

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - A family in Wichita is seeking the return of their trailer, which was stolen over the weekend along with all of their belongings inside. The incident was captured on a neighbor’s security camera. Just after 1 a.m. on Sunday, someone approached the Shook home, hooked up the trailer, and drove away. “We had a lock on it and additional locks on the doors in the back as well,” said Anna Shook.

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Time is running out to unlock expanded testing for people possibly affected by groundwater contamination in a northeast Wichita neighborhood. About 50 years ago, a chemical spill from a Union Pacific rail yard ultimately led to health concerns for people in the 29th and Grove area. The exposure led to a higher risk of cancer and a low birth rate. The soil near the 29th and Grove railyard contains a chemical called trichloroethene (TCE), which is used as a degreaser.
