    SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - A bill that would allow darker window tinting on cars is headed to the governor’s desk. On May 28, 2025 Louisiana HB119, presented by Representative Daryl Deshotel, was passed in the Louisiana Senate by a vote of 38 to 0. The bill now heads to the governor’s desk to be signed into law. HB119 will decrease the minimum light transmission percentage allowable for the front side window tint of vehicles. This would allow for darker-tinted windows.

    SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Community members in Shreveport-Bossier came together on Wednesday, May 21 after a fight at a head start graduation ceremony quickly turned violent. Community members say they wanted to have a redo for the kids in order to turn a negative situation into a positive. Head start students at Hersey D. Wilson in Caddo Parish got another shot at graduation after the ceremony for 3-year-olds and 4-year-olds was turned upside down last Monday (May 12).

    BOSSIER CITY, La. (KSLA) - The African American Parade Committee hosted their fifth annual event to give veterans free haircuts to honor them for their service. The event took place on Wednesday, May 21 at Octane Premium Kuts in the Pierre Bossier Mall from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.Any military veteran who attended received a free haircut to thank them for their sacrifices for the country. KSLA caught up with a retired Airmen to talk about why events like this to honor veterans are important.
