🔥 Desert furnace: engaged🔥 We’re cranking up the heat with 5 straight days above 105°, and no rain relief in sight 🚱 Don’t forget the air quality alerts and breezy afternoons😮💨💨 https://t.co/0hnMKj8zYW

Been getting a lot of questions lately about whether #Monsoon2025 has officially started, especially using the old-school definition. Quick answer: not yet. For the full breakdown, check out @papahenz_wx’s thread 🧵 Good stuff, John!

Has monsoon 2025 started? As meteorologist I say NO! Old sfc dewpt process of 3 consecutive days with avg daily dewpt> 54F only identifies if subtropic moisture is present. Is it enough? NO! Is it better to say monsoon season runs June 15-Sept 30? Maybe. Let's look deeper.#azwx
