The 16th hole never disappoints when it comes to odd fan behavior, funny costumes and overall craziness. Possibly the moment of the day Saturday at 16 didn't have much to do with any golf shot. With all of the groups of players having played and moved through the hole, there was a break while fans waited for the third round to begin. Tournament officials threw on some loud music that pulsated through the stadium, and one shirtless guy jumped out of the seats and ran toward a bunker.

The entourage came first, gleefully chanting and urging an already charged up crowd at the 16th hole to get behind their guy. Clad in black T-shirts with Sahith Theegala's likeness and name printed on them, the group of family and friends took their place in a terrace alongside the fairway, chanting "Thee-ga-la! Thee-gal-a!" as the PGA Tour pro and WM Phoenix Open co-leader after two rounds and part of the third prepared to tee off.

Chances are, Nick Saban's scorecard at the WM Phoenix Open's Annexus Pro-Am Wednesday could have looked the same as the number of times he acknowledged "Roll Tide" and "Go Coach!" cheers from the crowd at TPC Scottsdale. Or his stroke count could have resembled the number of selfies he took with fans and autographs he signed. Saban was in the Phoenix area to play some golf, roughly a month after retiring from coaching football.

Perhaps a bit quietly last October, the DraftKings Sportsbook at TPC Scottsdale opened its doors for business. But this week, the shiny facility located steps away from the 18th hole at the Stadium Course is on full display for the thousands that will fill the grounds at the WM Phoenix Open. The sports book is open and taking bets, while giving golf and sports fans several big screen TVs and both indoor and outdoor seating space as the newest permanent structure at this year's tournament.
