TEMPE, Ariz. -- When the Arizona Cardinals went on the clock in the sixth round of the NFL draft on Saturday with the 211th pick, their previous five picks had all been defensive players. Despite picking Texas offensive lineman Hayden Conner, general manager Monti Ossenfort went right back to defense in the seventh round for the Cardinals' final selection of this year's draft, giving the Cardinals six of seven picks on the defensive side of the ball.

Michigan cornerback Will Johnson's slide in the NFL draft stopped with the Arizona Cardinals in the second round Friday. Arizona took Johnson, once a projected first-round pick, with the 47th overall selection despite a knee injury that apparently concerned teams enough to not pick him in Thursday's opening round. Johnson played in just six games in 2024 because of a turf toe injury.

TEMPE, Ariz. -- Former NFL kicker Jay Feely is leaving the broadcast booth after a decade and entering the political arena. Feely told ESPN on Tuesday that he will run for the United States House of Representatives in Arizona's fifth congressional district during the 2026 midterm election. He formally filed a statement of interest with the Arizona secretary of state earlier Tuesday, which is required before a candidate can begin collecting signatures to get on the ballot.
