It was only five days ago when we were outlining the future of the Phoenix Suns’ roster over the next 3-5 years as Devin Booker, Ryan Dunn, Oso Ighodaro and the Nos. 29 and 52 picks. Beyond that, who knows. Well, we do now. Through trades on both NBA Draft nights and the separate Kevin Durant deal, Phoenix made three selections in the draft on top of adding young talent elsewhere.

We’ve got some activity in the second round! The Phoenix Suns were busy during the first, selecting Duke center Khaman Maluach while also trading the 29th overall pick and a 2029 first-rounder for Charlotte Hornets center Mark Williams. They haven’t stopped there, reportedly dealing two future second-round picks to the Brooklyn Nets for No. 36 overall on Thursday. Phoenix now has Nos. 36, 52 and 59 to work with in the second round.

The whispers were loud on the Phoenix Suns wanting to add a center the last couple of weeks, and a new regime in the front office achieved that objective and then some. Phoenix selected Duke center Khaman Maluach 10th overall in the 2025 NBA Draft on Wednesday, and mere moments later, it was reported the Suns had acquired Charlotte Hornets center Mark Williams in exchange for No. 29 in this year’s draft and a 2029 first-round pick that will likely land in the 20s.

The NBA Draft is just a day away, and the stakes for the Phoenix Suns have been greatly multiplied after the Kevin Durant trade. Phoenix now owns the No. 10 pick, in addition to Nos. 29, 52 and 59. The late lottery pick was the best asset to come back in exchange for Durant, and any type of imminent ascent building around Devin Booker the next 2-3 years is contingent on acing this draft. The Suns do not own any other assets that will yield them a potential All-Star.

This makes sense. Gambo said there wasn’t interest in KAT. The price tag Bridges went for always made that a tough ask. OG had a great year and I assume the Knicks don’t want to move him. Guessing preliminary conversations ended there.
