Deeno Jackson, 27, was indicted in southern Arizona last week for wire fraud after he allegedly engaged in a lottery scam that targeted elderly residents in the Grand Canyon State, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office of Arizona.

    GLENDALE, Ariz. — Glendale police have arrested a suspect in the fatal stabbing of 62-year-old Judy Lopez. On the night of April 28, Lopez got off a bus and was attacked in the area of 83rd Avenue and Cardinals Way. She later died at the hospital. Investigators noticed a cell phone Lopez was seen holding while exiting the bus was not still with her when police arrived on scene.

    PHOENIX — A San Tan Valley woman has agreed to pay nearly $55 million in restitution after she was accused of defrauding Arizona's Medicaid system. Rita Anagho pleaded guilty this week in federal court to conspiracy to commit health care fraud and wire fraud, records show. Starting in 2022, the defendant operated Tusa Intergrated Clinic, which purportedly provided treatment services for alcohol and drug addiction.

    GILBERT, Ariz. — A grand jury has indicted a Gilbert man for second-degree murder after he allegedly shot a landscaper in an East Valley neighborhood. Court records show Wyatt Ford, 29, has been charged with a single count of murder in relation to the death of 51-year-old Manuel Lopez, who was shot near Germann and Power roads on May 19. Lopez had been hired by a local landlord to conduct landscaping work.

    MESA, Ariz. — The father and son who had been involved in developing a massive sports complex in Mesa have recently pleaded guilty to securities fraud and identity theft. Randy Miller, 70, and Chad Miller, 41, both entered into a guilty plea on May 28 in a criminal case involving Legacy Sports Park, the 320-acre facility near Ellsworth and Pecos roads that opened in 2022.
