    PHOENIX – An Arizona business owner pleaded guilty in a federal tax evasion case on Tuesday, authorities said. Philip Kevin Clark, a 61-year-old Yuma resident, is scheduled for sentencing on July 28. He faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine for failure to pay employment tax, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona. Clark owns a water company in Yuma.

    PHOENIX – Arizona’s Democratic governor and Republican superintendent of public instruction don’t agree on much. But they found common ground on at least one issue: a school cellphone ban. Hobbs signed HB2484 on Monday after it passed through both chambers of the Legislature with bipartisan support. The legislation requires public district and charter governing bodies to enact policies regarding internet use, including restrictions on wireless devices during school hours.

    PHOENIX – A woman was hospitalized in serious condition after a mobile home fire in north Phoenix on Tuesday night, authorities said. Crews responded to the scene near 26th Street and Beardsley Road just after 8:30 p.m., according to the Phoenix Fire Department. What happened at scene of Phoenix mobile home fire? They encountered a large mobile home engulfed in smoke and flames. A woman who escaped from the home before crews arrived suffered smoke inhalation and burns.
