    SHREVEPORT, La. - Downtown Shreveport is bursting with color and creativity this weekend at ArtBreak 2025. The annual festival started in 1984 and showcases tens of thousands of student artwork from around the ArkLaTex like paintings, mosaics and sculptures. Over 2,500 art pieces from students from 100 schools plaster every surface of the Convention Center. Fifty different interactive exhibits teach kids how to sew, paint and create personal works of art.

Scammers impersonate sheriff's deputies or parish officials demanding payment through gift cards or financial apps for outstanding warrants. Multiple victims attempted to turn themselves in Wednesday after falling for the scam. "The scammers will tell people after they have received payment to come down to 505 Travis street on the seventh floor to turn yourself in.

    SHREVEPORT, La. — LSU Health Shreveport kicked off a new tradition Thursday with the inaugural Rasberry Lectureship, made possible by a record-setting $2.6 million donation from the family of longtime supporter James “Bubba” Rasberry. The event brings top biomedical researchers and clinicians to Shreveport and showcases the medical facility to visitors from across the country. In honor of the Rasberry family's contribution, the school renamed its 360-degree theater the Rasberry Auditorium.
