CHICAGO (CBS) — Chicago police are investigating two armed robberies reported in Chicago's West Town neighborhood on Monday night. The first robbery took place around 8:30 p.m. in the 2600 block of West Iowa Street. According to police, a 42-year-old was walking on the sidewalk when four people got out of a dark-colored sedan and demanded his property. Police said one of the offenders had a gun and hit the victim in the head with it.

CHICAGO (CBS) — The city is offering warning centers as wind chills drop below zero with high winds on Thursday. Thursday morning, wind chill values will range from 5 to 15 degrees below zero with high winds. Feels like temperatures remain in the single digits for the afternoon with lows in the teens by the evening. Strong winds overnight caused power outages and downed trees in the Southwest Side and the Southwest suburbs. As temperatures dropped below zero, many residents were left without power.

CHICAGO (CBS) — An apartment building fire sent residents into the cold in Bronzeville overnight. Video captured smoke billowing from the windows of a building in the 3800 block of South Giles Avenue just after 1:40 a.m. Firefighters used ladders and broke windows to put out flames on higher floors of the building. A warming bus was available to residents forced to evacuate and those displaced by the fire. First responders were working to help the displaced residents reach safety.

CHICAGO (CBS) — A 14-year-old boy was shot and killed inside an apartment in Little Village on Monday night. Just after 10:20 p.m., police said the teen was shot in the chest in an apartment building, in the 2200 block of South Christiana Avenue. First responders conducted lifesaving measures at the scene before he was taken to Stroger Hospital. He was later pronounced dead. Video taken at the scene shows a bullet hole in the window of the apartment.

CHICAGO (CBS) — A teenage boy was shot and killed overnight in the East Garfield Park neighborhood. The shooting happened just before 2:30 a.m. in the 2800 block of West Polk Street. Chicago police said the 17-year-old boy was standing in the street when a black vehicle pulled up alongside, and someone from inside fired shots in his direction. He was taken to UIC Hospital with multiple gunshots to his body, where he died. As of Friday morning, no one was in custody.
