TEMPE, AZ — Records show an accused serial rapist cut off his ankle monitor and left it in a Tempe alley then fled to Texas. Alex Bangash, 23, was arrested in a rural Texascounty last week after a joint operation with Tempe police and the U.S. Marshals. Tempe police say that there are five alleged victims, one of whom was a minor at the time of the assault. Bangash was firstarrested in September 2023, but after investigating the case, authorities found cases that date back to 2018.

PHOENIX — A Phoenix man agreed to plead guilty to manslaughter in the death of Jake Kelly. Angel Mullooly was in court on Tuesday, where he made the change of plea after he was originally facing trial for second-degree murder. Mullooly was one of three people arrested in the death of Kelly in August 2023. Do you have a concern in your community or a news tip?

GLOBE, AZ — A volunteer-led group plans to search for the remains of Emily Pike in hopes of bringing peace to her, her family, and her tribal community. The 14-year-old was reported missing from her Mesa group home in January and, weeks later, found dead off the U.S. 60 northeast of Globe. Her dismembered remains were found by hikers in the area on February 14, but some of her body has yet to be recovered. “A part of her is out there wanting to come home,” said Twila Cassadore.

BYLAS, AZ — Thursday marks two months since 14-year-old Emily Pike was first reported missing from a Mesa group home. Weeks later, she was found killed off the U.S. 60 northeast of Globe, nearly 100 miles away from the Valley. TEMPE, AZ — Attorneys for a Chicago police officer have notified the Tempe Police Department about their plans to sue the department. Jalen Woods and his attorneys have sent a notice of claim, the first step toward a lawsuit, to the city accusing them of malicious prosecution and false arrest for the August 2024 traffic stop on Mill Avenue. Benjamin Taylor, Woods' attorney, tells the ABC15 Investigators that the department violated Woods’ civil rights.
