Airpark Motor Vehicle Services has been serving the northern Valley for over 30 years — offering everything customers could find at Motor Vehicle offices, without the headache. Formerly known as L&J Motor Vehicle Services, Airpark Motor Vehicle Services first opened its doors in 1992 and is currently owned by Bill Padgett. The company has been a fixture of the Airpark for decades.

Playa Vista residents are being asked to help bring awareness of a rare vocal cord disorder this fall. The fifth iteration of Walk for Talk kicks off at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19 in Playa Vista at 6241 Crescent Park West. Now in its fifth year, this event is organized by Dysphonia International (DI). The organization is currently in its 35th year.

One North Phoenix restaurant is saying cheers to its first year in the Valley. Marino’s Italian Kitchen and Bar, 21001 N. Tatum Boulevard, is a Desert Ridge mainstay and brainchild of owner Ron Marino. The NYC area native got his start in the “biz” nearly 30 years ago. “It was like 1996 and I started working in a restaurant on the Upper East Side,” Marino said.

At Mountain View Headache and Spine Institute, the physicians use cutting-edge procedures and treatments to ease chronic pain. Gupta said the practice’s founding was a reaction to other physicians’ rigid thoughts about pain treatment. “We’re a border state, and I wanted to do something that can put a dent in the whole opioid pandemic,” Gupta said.
