The Federal Trade Commission has announced a final “click-to-cancel” rule that will require sellers to make it as easy for consumers to cancel their enrollment as it was to sign up. Most of the final rule’s provisions will go into effect 180 days after it is published in the Federal Register. “Too often, businesses make people jump through endless hoops just to cancel a subscription,” said Commission Chair Lina M. Khan in a press release.

Students of the Campbell University medical school are used to learning as they study to become doctors of osteopathic medicine. But as part of the recent Mini Medical School, those students got the chance to teach. High school students from throughout eastern North Carolina this summer took part in the inaugural, one-day event for ninth- to 12th-graders. It was a day, said Dr. Elizabeth Gignac, that allowed the students to explore medical school with medical students as mentors and teachers.

On Monday, July 15, Administrator Isabel Casillas Guzman, head of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the voice in President Biden’s Cabinet for America’s more than 33 million small businesses, announced $3 million in new funding under the Cybersecurity for Small Businesses Pilot Program. Travel south of Fayetteville became easier on Wednesday, July 10, after another section of Interstate 295 opened to traffic. Contractors for the N.C. The Department of Transportation removed the barrels and barricades Wednesday afternoon, partially opening the Camden Road interchange (Exit 7) outside Hope Mills.
