Illinois posted modest job growth in the first quarter of the year, with the government sector being one of the top performers despite recent workforce reductions by the federal government. The Department of Justice is banning its employees from attending American Bar Association events in their official capacity. Yesterday, U.S. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche sent a memo, which was obtained by Bloomberg Law, reportedly stating that employees are not allowed to "speak at, attend or otherwise participate" in events hosted by the Chicago-based ABA while acting in their official capacities. Additionally, employees are not permitted to attend ABA events during business hours.
