SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — In an action that will draw supporters and opponents, Dakota State University will give Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem an honorary degree. DSU announced Thursday morning that Noem will receive the degree during the university’s May 10 commencement. Noem is scheduled to be speaking at the DSU graduation ceremony. The news released said the honorary degree has met the DSU and South Dakota Board of Regents policies and procedures for granting honorary degrees.
