The idea of “putting your money to work” probably appeals to you. You want your money to do something for you, right? But what does that really mean? After looking at a few financial websites, I’ve identified three broad categories of “money working” in current use: Using money wisely Maximizing your compensation InvestingI can’t argue with using money wisely or maximizing compensation, but when I hear someone talk about putting money to work, my mind turns immediately to investments.

LITTLE VALLEY — Cattaraugus County officials said Thursday that the county and other partners in the Olean Area Transportation Service will work with the city of Olean to continue OATS operations past May 31 — the date the city set to end daily bus routes. Mayor Bill Aiello announced the upcoming cessation of bus operations two weeks ago, saying the city was facing increased costs and lagging state reimbursement.

LITTLE VALLEY — The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office was commended Wednesday by County Legislature Chairman Andrew Burr on its recent reaccreditation. Burr made the presentation to Undersheriff Eric Butler during the legislature meeting. Butler said the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office was first accredited by the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services in 2008 and has been successfully reaccredited as required.
Langworthy gets $475,000 for St. Bonaventure cyber security center

ST. BONAVENTURE — U.S. Rep. Nick Langworthy visited St. Bonaventure University Wednesday to announce a $475,000 grant for a Cyber Security Ops Center with implications for both education and local jobs. “This institution is critical and a gem of the 23rd District,” Langworthy told university officials including President Dr. Jeff Ginerich and Provost Dr. David Hilmey, as well as staff and cyber security students at a press conference at the Walsh Science Center.
