Bobby Luera is a musician, producer and creator of “On a Sunday Afternoon,” or OASA. He said he launched On a Sunday Afternoon to be a space for joy, food, drinks and live music. He says it’s a brand rooted in community and love. “The whole purpose behind the brand is to bring people together,” he said.

Three people were killed, including a teen, when a shooting broke out in the parking lot of El Camaron Gigante Mariscos & Steakhouse near Grand and Glendale avenues. Five others were wounded. Three days later, no arrests have been made.

    PHOENIX (AZFamily) — The Phoenix City Council is set to vote on a budget, but it won’t be easy. The city manager’s budget proposal includes more funding for police, which could mean cuts to other programs. Right now, the city has a $39 million deficit and is trying to trim where it can to break even. City manager Jeff Barton proposes increasing the police budget by $46 million to accommodate salaries, pensions, insurance, and more patrol vehicles.

William “Owen” Hines has been sentenced to 17 years for his role in the beating death of Preston Lord as well as prior assault cases. He pleaded guilty to manslaughter after taking a deal. Once released from prison he will be on supervised probation. He is getting 441 days for
