LAKEVIEW, Ohio (WDTN) — Ohio and the Midwest have become the new tornado valley with a high count of tornadoes touching down close to home. So far this year, the state has reported 43 tornadoes, the most in the nation. That includes five more confirmed tornadoes this past Wednesday, including an EF-0 in Champaign County. In Logan County, the March 14 tornadoes were some of the strongest reported in the state this year. Experts say the reason may be due to a change in weather patterns.

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Spring is here, and that means more orange barrels on roads across Ohio. The Ohio Department of Transportation is ready to resume and begin roadway projects across the state, including several in the Miami Valley. It’s all about improving roads, but every project comes with a risk. We’re less than four full months into the year, and already 44 ODOT vehicles have been hit. In comparison, 56 ODOT vehicles were hit in all of 2023.
