    MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Neighbors in a Midtown neighborhood are on edge after a shooting led to a bullet flying through an innocent woman’s window. Neighbors say they heard a loud party at the house on Ashlawn, near the Poplar and Hollywood intersection, around 11 p.m. A witness told police he had been there earlier shooting a rap video. The City of Memphis has the house registered as a short-term rental. It had a permit and was renewed in November 2024.

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A West Memphis, Arkansas man is jailed on a $1 million bond for child pornography charges, while he was on probation for a similar case last year. The Crittenden County Jail log shows Jonathan Sparrow, 27, was arrested March 4 on a charge of distributing, possessing, or viewing matter depicting sexual conduct involving a child.

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Shelby County Commissioner Edmund Ford Jr. had his first report date in federal court Thursday morning after being arrested nearly a week ago. Ford Jr. is facing bribery and six attempted tax evasion charges. In a 17-page indictment, Ford Jr. allegedly used his public office to secure grant funds for several non-profits and then received payments from those organizations in exchange for laptops from his business.
