(WMTV) -Cyclists in Madison fueled up on the calories while out on the bike trail Thursday morning!Employees with the company Saris were out on the Capitol City Trail serving up “brat cakes”. It’s a grilled brat wrapped in a pancake and served with a drizzle of maple syrup. “It has been great, we started at 6:30 a.m. and I don’t know it seems like hundreds of people come through, it’s been very busy,” said Deanna Sanderson, the Marketing Manager & Art Director for Saris.

KEYESER, Wis. (WMTV) - A beloved business that was in operation in rural Columbia County for 130 years shut down late last year. But now, it’s making a comeback under new ownership. “We are in the process of getting a lot of the permits, kind of freshening up,” said Rachel Munz, the new owner of Gilbertson’s General Story in Keyeser. Munz and her husband Dave bought the store from the original owner Kenny Gilbertson. Gilbertson’s great uncle founded the store in 1894 after emigrating from Norway.

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - A farmer came face to face with a tornado Thursday night and now lives to tell the tale. Sunshine poured across a 300-acrew farm in Juneau on Friday after severe weather hit the night prior, creating a path of destruction. Bob Schwandt is now grateful for how the community is coming together to support him as he recovers from his brush with death. He said he was finishing up some chores around the farm Thursday evening before the weather picked up.

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Storms pummeled through Mayville on Thursday night, causing severe damage to buildings in the area. Broken tree branches, downed power lines and walls torn from buildings were among the damage seen in Mayville. Gleason Reel, a manufacturing company, had an entire front wall missing. Mar’que Kirby, who works in Mayville, described the damage as mind blowing.

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - The Madison Police Department is partnering with the Milwaukee Brewers to dish out free trading cards to kids. “We are always looking for fun, interesting, and creative ways to build relationships with the community and sports is something that everyone can connect on,” said Lt. Liv Novitzke with the Madison Police Dept. Lt. Novitzke says the Brewers contacted and asked if they’d be interested in receiving the trading cards to give out to the community.
