Logan Henderson, quite simply, did what he needed to do. Optioned to Class AAA Nashville with a couple weeks left in spring training, the right-hander pitched well enough in three starts for the Sounds that prior to the Milwaukee Brewers' game against the Detroit Tigers at American Family Field on Tuesday he earned his first major-league callup. The Brewers' need for pitching is acute after an almost unprecedented run of injuries that stretches back to the start of camp.

The Milwaukee Brewers will try to snap a three-game losing streak as they once again host the Detroit Tigers at American Family Field on Tuesday night. Right-hander Quinn Priester (0-0, 1.80) makes his second start for the Brewers and will be countered by right-hander Jack Flaherty (1-0, 1.62). Milwaukee also made a couple roster moves on Tuesday afternoon, recalling right-hander Logan Henderson from Class AAA Nashville and optioning right-hander Elvin Rodríguez there.

It was a mixed-bag kind of night for Isaac Collins. The switch-hitting rookie got the start at designated hitter, and in the second spot in the order at that, with the Milwaukee Brewers opening a six-game homestand April 14 against the Detroit Tigers at American Family Field. The downside? Tarik Skubal, the reigning American League Cy Young Award winner, was on the mound. "Obviously, there's some clout behind the name," Collins said.

There was a glaring omission in the Milwaukee Brewers' lineup on as they faced the Detroit Tigers and their 2024 American League Cy Young Award winner, Tarik Skubal, on April 14. One Christian Yelich. Jackson Chourio was playing left field, Isaac Collins got the nod at designated hitter and Yelich is fine physically, which led to the obvious question of why Yelich wasn't playing against the right-hander. "Yelich wants to play against everybody," manager Pat Murphy said before the game.

A nightmarish run of opposing starting pitchers continued for the Milwaukee Brewers on April 14. And it did not go well for them. The Detroit Tigers scored twice in each of the first two innings and the Brewers' bats were absolutely no match for 2024 American League Cy Young Award winner Tarik Skubal, who dominated over seven innings with Milwaukee ultimately falling, 9-1, at American Family Field.

A nice debut for Quinn Priester: https://t.co/5cmlcxXhbM

The Brewers fall, 7-2. Twice they had the bases loaded with nobody out and managed to score just two runs. They finished 1 for 13 with runners in scoring position and fell short in sweeping the Rockies at Coors Field for the first time since 2014.

This one is officially broken open as Babe Doyle -- who else? -- drills a two-out, bases-clearing double to left to make it a 6-2 game. Five RBI on the day for The Babe.
