The two will square off again at Fenway. Garrett Crochet stole the show in his return to Rate Field, but rookie Shane Smith showed the White Sox might not miss their former ace that much. You wonder if they can put on an encore at Fenway when they face off in round two today. Crochet nearly no-hit the Chicago White Sox last Sunday when he toed the rubber for the first time in Chicago in a different uniform. Smith was pretty good too.

The offense is in a terrible funk, and one reason is Andrew Vaughn is off to another slow start. A slow start is putting it nicely. Now that Mike Clevinger is gone, these three players make sense to get cut next. The Chicago White Sox finally realized the error of their ways and designated Mike Clevinger for assignment. May he never be heard from again, or at least in a White Sox uniform. However, do not put it past this organization to outright him to Triple-A Charlotte once he clears waivers, and no team wants him again for the fourth time being available on the open market.
