    A newcomer to politics on Tuesday apparently ousted a two-term City Council incumbent in the first contested municipal election in Sea Isle City in more than a decade. Real estate professional Ian Ciseck has a 30-vote lead over incumbent J.B. Feeley, according to the unofficial vote tally. Ciseck was one of three candidates elected Tuesday, May 13, to three council seats. Former police Capt. Michael Jargowsky, another political newcomer, and incumbent Mary Tighe also won.

    WILDWOODS – The lawsuit asking a judge to prevent Wildwood Crest from leaving the Five Mile Dune project remains on hold, pending whether the affected towns can reach agreement about it. The state Department of Environmental Protection sent a letter dated March 11 to the four municipalities involved in the $54 million project.

    STONE HARBOR – The Borough Council has adopted an ordinance that adds a $125 fee to the quarterly base sewer rate for the remaining three quarters of 2025. The additional expense being passed on to ratepayers is required to accommodate a series of expense transfers from the general fund to the water and sewer utility as part of the borough’s 2025 budget process.

    A Wildwood Crest man has been arrested and charged with shooting and killing a woman in a park in Millville late last year, according to the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office. Kirk E. Williams, 30, has been charged with murder, three weapons offenses and tampering with evidence in the killing of Teaoshia Still, 36. According to the Prosecutor’s Office, on Nov. 9, 2024, a jogger called Millville police after finding Still’s body in Waltman Park.
