The Carlisle Area School Board Thursday adopted a $118.1 million budget for 2025-26 that includes a 3% real estate tax hike. Board members agreed to increase the tax rate from the current 16.8633 mills to 17.3691 mills. The owner of an average median home, assessed at $179,500, will pay an additional $90.79. A land development plan has been filed with the Cumberland County planning department to install drive-thru aisles at the Rise Medical Marijuana Dispensary at 1186 Harrisburg Pike, Middlesex Township. In the plan filed on Monday, Hambrecht Oleson Design Inc. of Ridgewood, New Jersey, proposes the redevelopment of two existing lots at the dispensary site, according to information posted on the county website.

Carlisle Barracks will conduct its annual full-scale readiness training exercise from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. next Tuesday, according to a press release. “The realistic exercise will incorporate simulated emergency scenarios,” post spokesman Curt Keester said. These scenarios could include loud sounds and a coordinated response from Carlisle Barracks, the Army War College and Dunham U.S. Army Health Clinic personnel.
