    PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Washington drivers need to be on the lookout, because authorities say there is a fake gold scam hitting the highways. According to Washington State Patrol, they have received at least 57 reports since January of individuals stopping on freeways and ramps attempting to sell fake gold to passersby. WSP adds that, besides this being illegal, some “gold sellers” are stepping into traffic and forcing drivers to pull over.

(KOIN) — A California man appeared in federal court on Tuesday after authorities said he cyberstalked and posted sexually explicit photos of his Oregon ex-girlfriend online over the course of 14 years. Court documents allege that from 2009 to 2023, 42-year-old Jason Campos stalked and harassed his former intimate partner by posting the explicit images of her and posting personal information online.

(KOIN) — Multnomah County unveiled the proposed $4 billion budget for 2026 on Thursday, showing investments in community safety and health outcomes, but also staffing cuts and reduced funding for select homelessness services amid a $77 million shortfall.
