    Registrations are being accepted for the 2025 season of the Gainesville Baseball/Softball Summer League. Friday is the deadline to enter. Participating athletes must have turned age 4 before May 1 and cannot turn age 13 before the same date. The cost is $35, and checks should be made payable to “Gainesville R-V School District.” Games will begin May 27 and continue through July 1. Forms can be mailed to the Gainesville School District or turned in at the Gainesville High School office.

    Audrey Blair (center) with parents Michael and JulieA senior at Marshall High School has been shining for the last few years as a multi-sport athlete. Audrey Blair will be taking her talent to Conway next year after signing a national letter of intent to join the softball program at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. Blair is going for her third All-State selection in softball this season. She says the game has been a part of her life for much of her childhood.

    The ASU-Mountain Home baseball team will wrap up its current home stand with another conference doubleheader on Thursday. The TrailBlazers will look to add to their seven-game winning streak as they welcome South Arkansas to Cooper Park. ASU-Mountain Home is currently 30-12 on the season and 11-4 in conference play. The TrailBlazers were able to sweep a pair of doubleheaders over ASU Mid-South last Thursday and Saturday. The first game at Lester White Field is scheduled for 1.
